A Nightly Opportunity for Spiritual Elevation

“Verily, the night vigil is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain.” [Al-Muzzammil 73:6]

What After Ramadaan?

Even though Ramadan is ending, we all have to make sure it stays with us. How, might you ask? Everybody knows that Ramadan lasts only for a month, 29 or 30 wonderful days.

Common Mistakes made by Muslims on Eid!

Question: What are the mistakes and wrong actions that the Muslims are warned against on the two Eids? We see some actions which we denounce such as visiting graves after the Eid prayer and staying up to worship on the night of Eid…

Only for Allaah - A Sister's Story

The morning of Thursday, November 6, 1997 my identity became clear not only to me, but to every person I would encounter from that day forward. I decided to wear the hijaab and begin to develop myself as a more conscientious Muslim woman. It was on that very day that I revealed to the world that I am a Muslim and that I was no longer afraid to be who I was.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, hijaab, it literally means 'barrier' or 'something that covers or conceals completely'. In today's non-Islamic societies, the true meaning of the hijaab is often replaced with such notions as scarves, kerchiefs, or 'head-pieces' - as one of my co-workers eloquently put it. Many people are simply uneducated about the why Muslims must dress modestly and because of this profound lack of knowledge and understanding many stereotypes and misconceptions arise.

I am not going to go into the intricate details about the purpose of the hijaab or submerse myself in the ongoing debate as to whether or not the hijaab is an obligatory practice for Muslim men and women. There are many fabulous books available that go through the ins-and-outs of appropriate Muslim dress. Better yet, I implore all of you to pick up a Qur'an, and read over the verses concerning modesty and dress.

In Surah 24: Al-Nur (or The Light), verses 30-31 it says:

"Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity of them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: they should not display their ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty..."

Today, I am simply here to share with you my personal experiences in hope that you may find some meaning and sense of inspiration in what I have to say.

Raised in a Muslim family, I was brought up with the basic, fundamental principles and values that Islam instills. I was taught to pray, to fast, to be kind-hearted, generous and to share the Deen of Allah graciously with those around me. The thought of one day 'covering my head' occasionally popped into my mind, but the thought that almost always followed was - "Not until I'm ready!" I never really understood what hijaab meant. I often thought that it was man's clever way of keeping woman under his control.

I soon came to realize that I very wrong. In fact, the hijaab was the perfect outlet for women to seek liberation, respect and ultimate freedom from sexual harassment and the liking. For years and years I would wake up extra early to style my hair according to what was 'in' at the time. I would spend over an hour caking make-up onto my face, trying to look beautiful - but never quite sure for who Each morning I would eventually make my way out into the world - not really prepared to be judged, solely on my physical appearance, by every person I was to encounter along my path.

Now that I look back at who I was then, it makes me grateful to Allah (SWT) to see how far he has brought me. For a time, I was confused and somewhat lost, as are many young women in non-Islamic nations - trying desperately to fit in to a society that dictates that beauty is naked, emaciated teenagers on a billboards selling perfume and underwear. I recently read that some of those models and actors that I once adored, practically have to kill themselves to look the way they do. From face-lifts to lipo-suction. Some even go as far as having their ribs removed so they can have tiny waists!

The harder I tried to fit in, the more frustrated I became. It finally dawned on me that the images being flashed in front of me 24 hours a day could not possibly be true representations women's liberation. I was convinced that there had to be a simpler answer somewhere.

It was at this point that I decided it was time to put some more thought into this whole 'hijaab' issue. And I did. For 3.5 years I contemplated the thought of wearing hijaab, but the fear inside of me was overwhelming. I was afraid of what my friends would say. I was afraid of what my professors and colleagues might think. I was terrified that I would be harassed at work, or even worse - fired! All of these thoughts raced through my mind, day in and day out. Each time I seriously though about doing it I would say, "But, I'm not ready yet!" A very convenient excuse I must say!

finally said to myself, "Jennifer, look at the big picture!" Now, when I say big picture, I don't mean next week, or in a few months or even 25 years down the road. I mean the akhira - the hear-after. I asked myself a very straightforward question. Who am I going to fear? These strangers who I know not or Allah? I finally convinced myself that it was time for me to take this step closer to Allah, as difficult as it may have seemed at the time.

As I was having my very last doubt the verse in Surah Al Baqarah (verse 286, I believe), continued to penetrate my heart: "La yukalif Allah nafsin ila was'ha". "On no soul doth Allah place a burden greater than it can bear". These are the very words that gave me the courage to finally make the right choice. It was at that very moment that I said, "Allah, I will wear this hijaab because I believe in my heart that you have asked me to do so. Please guide me and give me the strength to do this."

over a year has gone by now and I can honesty tell you that I have never felt more free or more at peace with myself and the world around me. In all fairness I will be honest and tell you that it wasn't an easy thing to do. Quite frankly, it was probably the most difficult challenge I've had to face in my life. Isn't it ironic how that works? The things that will benefit us most and that make the most sense are often those we fail to realize or have difficulty accepting.

I've had to deal with a variety of off-the-wall comments. But what it all boils down to is me making a personal decision to increase my faith and become what I believe to be a better Muslim. To me the hijab not only represents modesty, purity, righteousness and protection but truly is the ultimate state of respect and liberation. Alhamdou lilah, I am free!

I am a Muslim woman Feel free to ask me why When I walk I walk with dignity When I speak I do not lie I am a Muslim woman Not all of me you'll see But what you should appreciate Is that the choice I make is free I'm not plagued with depression I'm neither cheated nor abused I don't envy other women And I'm certainly not confused Note, I speak perfect English Et un petit peu de Francais aussie I'm majoring in Linguistics So you need not speak slowly I run my own small business Every cent I earn is mine I drive my Chevy to school & work And no, that's not a crime! You often stare as I walk by You don't understand my veil But peace and power I have found As I am equal to any male! I am a Muslim woman So please don't pity me For God has guided me to truth And now I'm finally free!

The Fraud Mushriks

ALLAH THE MOST HIGH Says: “And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allâh, making their Faith pure for Him only, but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others.”
[Surah Ankaboot, 029:065]

This verse along with many such verses just shows how fraudulent the mushriks (polytheist) were in their belief. When they were in real dangers they used to invoke or call upon directly to ALLAH without any of their intermediates or intercessors in between. In such situation, they used to make their faith pure for HIM Alone. Thus, ALLAH’s help used to come to them but soon as they were out of danger they were back to their polytheistic ways.

This verse also proves that ALLAH listen’s even to mushriks and kaafirs when they call onto HIM Alone, directly.

It really hurts to see this ummah falling in the pits of Polytheism by calling or invoking others besides ALLAH, when in need of divine help. Some call upon the Prophet (SAS), some call upon Ali (ra), some call upon walis (saints), some call upon their peers (spiritual teacher), some call upon their deads, some call upon angels, while some call upon jinns to help them out and some hold onto things that they consider lucky enough to save them . Brothers and sisters all these are acts of shirk (polytheism).

People of this ummah say that these are their intercessors with ALLAH and they are theirs intermediate with ALLAH. While they forget this was exactly the same belief of those mushriks at the time of Prophet Muhammed (SAS). Those mushriks used to worship statues and idols of their pious dead with belief that the pious dead soul will intercede for them in front of ALLAH.

ALLAH (SWT) Says:

"And they worship besides Allâh things that harm them not, nor profit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allâh."
[Surah Yunus, 10: 18]

Those mushriks used to believe that their intercessors can help them, but when they were surrounded with situation of no escape and death lurked on their heads they used to forget all of their intercessors and used to sincerely invoke on to ALLAH – The Ever Living.

ALLAH Say’s to them:
“And when harm touches you upon the sea, those that you call upon vanish from you except Him (Allâh Alone). But when He brings you safe to land, you turn away (from Him). And man is ever ungrateful.”
[Surah Israa, 17: 67]

Ibn Kathir in his Book of Tafsîr as regards this Verse (17:67) said: 'Ikrimah bin Abu Jahl fled from Allâh's Messenger [SAS] (at the time) when Makkah was conquered. He rode over the (Red) Sea to cross over to Ethiopia, but (as they proceeded) a heavy stormy wind overtook their boat, and huge waves came to them from all sides, and they thought that they are encircled therein. The people of the boat said to one another: "None can save you except Allâh (the Only True God of the heavens and earth). So invoke (call upon) Him (Allâh) (by making your Faith pure for Him Alone and none else) to deliver you safe (from drowning)." 'Ikrimah said to himself. 'By Allâh if none can benefit in the sea except Allâh (Alone) then no doubt none can benefit over the land except Allâh (Alone). O Allâh! I promise You that if You deliver me safe from this, I will go and put my hands in the hands of (Prophet) Muhammad and surely, I will find him full of pity, kindness and mercy.' So they were delivered safe (by Allâh), and returned to their seashore and came out of the sea. 'Ikrimah then proceeded to Allâh's Messenger, Muhammad , (narrated his story) embraced Islam (just as he promised Allâh) and became a perfect Muslim." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

Ikrimah (ra) accepted Islaam and left the fraudulent beliefs of polytheists, but many even after this, were still in their deceptive beliefs.

ALLAH Say’s regarding them:

“And when waves cover them like shades (i.e. like clouds or the mountains of sea water), they invoke Allâh, making their invocations for Him only. But when He brings them safe to land, there are among them those that stop in between (Belief and disbelief). But none denies Our Signs except every perfidious ingrate.”
[Surah Luqman, 031:032]

ALLAH Says:

Say (O Muhammad [SAS]): "Who rescues you from the darkness of the land and the sea (dangers like storms), (when) you call upon Him in humility and in secret (saying): If He (Allâh) only saves us from this (danger), we shall truly, be grateful." Say (O Muhammad [SAS]): "Allâh rescues you from this and from all (other) distresses, and yet you worship others besides Allâh."
[Surah Anaam, 6: 63 & 64]

ALLAH – The ever living is the One who listens and can help and HE and Only HE should be worshipped and called upon for help. All the prophets and messengers came mainly for this purpose of making humankind to leave the path of worshipping others besides HIM. Yet, conversely many took Prophets and Messengers of ALLAH as their objects of worship. This has happened with Musa (Moses), Uzair (Ezra), Isaa (Jesus) and now with Muhammed (Peace be upon them all)
ALLAH Says: Do then those who disbelieved think that they can take My slaves [i.e., the angels, Allâh's Messengers, 'خsâ (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] as Auliyâ' (lords, gods, protectors) besides Me? Verily, We have prepared Hell as an entertainment for the disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism).

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds?

"Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds.

[Surah Al Kahf, 18: 103 to 104]

ALLAH also Says:

"If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call; and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you like Him Who is Well-Aquainted (with everything)".
[Surah al Faatir 035: 14]

And ALLAH Says:

O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily, those on whom you call besides Allâh, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatches away a thing from them, they will have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought.

They have not estimated Allâh His Rightful Estimate. Verily, Allâh is All-Strong, All-Mighty.

[Surah al Hajj, 22: 73 &74]

May ALLAH save this ummah of Prophet Muhammed (SAS) from all kinds of shirks and may they believe in all inclusive and infinite powers of ALLAH that exclusively belongs to HIM Alone and none has any share in it.

Mother’s Day – An historical overview and the Scholars’ Rulings on this holiday

..:: Mother’s Day – An historical overview and the Scholars’ Rulings on this holiday ::..

Praise be to Allaah and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allaah.

uIntroduction:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us that his ummah would follow the previous nations, the Jews, Christians and Persians, but this was undoubtedly not praise for their actions, rather it is by way of condemnation and a warning. It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, handspan by handspan, cubit by cubit, until even if they entered the hole of a lizard, you will do so too.” We asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said, “Who else?” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3269; Muslim, 2669).

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Hour will not begin until my ummah follows in the footsteps of those who came before it, handspan by handspan, cubit by cubit.” It was asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, like the Persians and Romans?” He said, “Those are the people?”

(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6888)

The ignorant among this ummah, and the innovators and heretics have followed the previous nations, the Jews, Christians and Persians, in their beliefs, ways, manners and dress. Our concern here is to point out in these days their following and imitation of them through the innovation of “Mother’s Day” or “Family Day”, which is a day that the Christians innovated to honour mothers, or so they claim. This then became a day that was venerated, when government departments would be shut and people would get in touch with their mothers or send them gifts and loving messages. But when the day was over, things would go back to the way they were, with people being cut off from their mothers and disobeying them.

What is strange is that the Muslims would feel a need to imitate them in such ways, when Allaah has commanded them to honour their mothers and has forbidden them to disobey them, and has made the reward for that (for obeying them) the highest status.

Definition of the word ‘Eid
[as Mother’s Day is known in Arabic as “Eid al-umm” or “mothers’ festival”; the word Eid is derive from the root ‘aada/ya’ood meaning to come back or return]

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:

“ ‘Eid (festival) is a name that is given to an occasion which returns, when people gather in a festive manner, whether that is annual or weekly or monthly and so on.”

(Iqtidaa’ al-Siraat al-Mustaqeem, 1/441).

Ibn ‘Aabideen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “ An ‘Eid is so called because Allaah repeatedly bestows blessings, i.e., kinds of blessings that come back to His slaves on these days, such as breaking the fast after refraining from eating, sadaqat al-fitr (obligatory charity paid at the end of Ramadaan), completing the Hajj by doing Tawaaf al-Ziyaarah, the sacrificial meats, and so on; and because the tradition on such occasions is to express joy and happiness, and to be energetic and happy.”

(Haashiyat Ibn ‘Aabideen, 2/165)

How many festivals are there in Islam?

The Muslim may note the large number of festivals that are observed among the Muslims nowadays, such as the Festival of Trees, Workers’ Day (May Day), the anniversary of the king’s accession to the throne, birthdays, etc… There is a long list of such days, but each of these is the innovation of the Jews, Christians and polytheists; they have no basis in Islam. There are no festivals in Islam apart from Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr.

It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik said: “During the Jaahiliyyah, the people had two days each year when they would play. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madeenah he said, ‘You had two days on which you would play, but Allaah has given you something better than them: the day of al-Fitr and the day of al-Adha.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 1134; al-Nasaa’i, 1556; classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani).

Honouring one’s mother

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Worship Allaah and join none with Him (in worship); and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, Al-Masaakeen (the poor), the neighbour who is near of kin, the neighbour who is a stranger, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (you meet), and those (slaves) whom your right hands possess. Verily, Allaah does not like such as are proud and boastful”

[al-Nisa’ 4:36]

And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour”

[al-Isra’ 17:23]

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “A man came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah, who among the people is most deserving of my good company?’ He said, ‘Your mother.’ He asked, ‘Then who?’ He said, ‘Your mother.’ He asked, ‘Then who?’ He said, ‘Your mother.’ He asked, ‘Then who?’ He said, ‘Then your father.’”

(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5626; Muslim, 2548)

Al- Haafiz ibn Hajar said:

“Ibn Battaal said: what this means is that the mother should be honoured three times more than the father. He said, that is because of the difficulties of pregnancy, then giving birth, then breastfeeding. These are hardships that are experienced only by the mother, then the father shares with her in raising the child. This is also referred to in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

‘And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years’

[Luqmaan 31:14]

So the recommendation to be dutiful and good refers to both parents, but the mother’s share is greater because of the three things mentioned above. Al-Qurtubi said: "what is meant is that the mother deserves a greater share of her child’s honour, and her rights take precedence over those of the father in cases where a choice must be made. ‘Iyaad said: the majority of scholars were of the view that the mother takes precedence over the father in terms of honouring one’s parents. And it was said that both must be honoured equally, and this was narrated by some from Maalik, but the former view is the one which is correct.”

(Fath al-Baari, 10/402).

Indeed, even if one's mother is a mushrikah (polytheist), the wise and pure sharee’ah of Islam encourages one to uphold ties of kinship with her:

It was narrated that Asma’ bint Abi Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with them both) said: “My mother came to visit me at the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and she was a mushrikah. I consulted the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), saying, ‘My mother has come to visit me for some purpose, should I uphold ties of kinship with my mother?’ He said, ‘Yes, uphold ties of kinship with your mother.’”

(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2477)

Mothers in kaafir countries

Those who study the situation of families in general and of mothers in particular in the non-Muslim societies will hear and read of strange things. You can hardly find any complete family whose members keep in touch with one another, let alone meeting and conversing or staying together.

As some observers in kaafir countries have said: in the marketplaces or streets you may see a mother and her son or daughter, or a father and his son or daughter, but you will rarely see a whole family going shopping or walking in the streets.

When the father or mother grows old, the best among their children hastens to put them in seniors’ homes. Some Muslims went to some of these homes and asked a dozen of seniors what their greatest wish was. All of them said, “Death!” That is only because each of them is living in misery, grief and regret for the way they have ended up and the way their children have deserted them at the time when they need them most.

Timing of Mother’s Day in different countries
The date of Mother’s Day, and the way in which it is celebrated, differs from one country to another. In Norway it is celebrated on the second Sunday in February. In Argentina it is celebrated on the second Sunday in October. In Lebanon it is on the first day of spring. In South Africa it is celebrated on the first Sunday in May.

In France it is celebrated more as a family festival, on the last Sunday in May, when family members get together for dinner, then they give a cake to the mother.

Sweden also has a holiday for Family Day on the last Sunday of May. A few days before that the Swedish Red Cross sells small plastic roses for people to give to their mothers who will spend the holiday taking care of their children. In Japan this day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May, as in North America, where exhibitions are held of pictures drawn by children aged 6-14; these exhibitions are called “My Mother” This exhibition is moved every four years and has appeared in a number of countries.

Mother’s Day – an historical overview
Some researchers have said:

Some historians have suggested that Mother’s Day started with the ancient Greeks’ celebrations of spring festivals. These festivals were devoted to the mother goddess Rhea, the wife of Cronos, the father god. In ancient Rome there was a similar celebration devoted to the worship or veneration of Sybil, another mother of the gods. This began approximately 250 years before the birth of the Messiah (peace be upon him). These religious celebrations of the Romans were called “Hilaria” and lasted for three days from March 15 to March 18.

Sunday in England

This was a day similar to the modern Mother’s Day celebration, but it was called “Mothering Sunday” or (the Sunday half-way through Lent), because it occurred during their major fasting period (Lent). Some say that the celebrations that were held to worship and honour the Roman goddess Sybil were changed by the church to celebrations meant to honour and venerate Mary (peace be upon her). This custom began with some people encouraging people to visit the central church in their locality, bringing offerings. In 1600 young men and women of simple professions and servants started to visit their mothers on “Mothering Sunday”, bringing gifts and food. This is what happened in England. In the USA it was a different story.

The United States

Anna M. Jarvis (1864-1948):

She had the idea of making Mother’s Day an official holiday in the United States. She never married and she had a very strong relationship with her mother. She was the daughter of a minister and she taught in the Sunday School of Andrew Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. Two years after her mother died, she launched a campaign addressed to bosses, ministers and congressmen, to declare Mother’s Day an official holiday in the country. She felt that children did not appreciate what their mothers had done for them during their lives, and she hoped that this day would strengthen the feelings of children for their mothers and fathers, and strengthen family ties.

The beginning
The church honoured Miss Anna Jarvis in Grafton, West Virginia, and in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania on May 10, 1908. This was the beginning of Mother’s Day in the United States.

Carnations were one of her mother’s favourite flowers, especially white ones, because they were supposed to represent goodness, purity and patience, which are characteristic of a mother’s love. As time went by, red carnations became a symbol that the mother was still alive, and white carnations became a symbol that the mother had passed away.

The first official declaration of Mother’s Day in the United States was in West Virginia and Oklahoma in 1910. In 1911 the entire U.S. celebrated this day. By then these celebrations had also spread to Mexico, Canada, China, Japan, Latin America and Africa. Then the U.S. Congress officially agreed to announce celebrations of Mother’s Day, on May 10, 1913, and the first Sunday in May was chosen as Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day in the Arab World

The idea of celebrating Mother’s Day in the Arab world began in Egypt, and was started by the two brothers Mustafa and ‘Ali Ameen, the founders of the Akhbaar al-Yawm newspaper. ‘Ali Ameen himself had received a letter from a mother complaining of her children’s meanness and bad treatment towards her, and suffering because of their failure to appreciate her. It so happened that another mother visited Mustafa Ameen in his office and told him her story; briefly, she had been widowed when her children were small, and she had not remarried. She had devoted her life to her children, playing the role of both father and mother, spending all her energy in taking care of her children, until they left to go to university and get married. Each of them was living an independent life, and they only visited her on rare occasions. Mustafa Ameen and ‘Ali Ameen wrote in their famous column Fikrah (“Idea”) suggesting that a day should be set aside for mothers, to remember their virtues. They pointed out that the west did that, and that Islam enjoined taking care of one’s mother. Many letters were sent to the newspaper, supporting this idea. Some suggested that a whole week should be devoted to mothers, not just one day, and others rejected the idea, saying that every day of the year should be for one’s mother, not just one day. But most readers agreed with the idea of setting aside one day, and they voted to choose March 21, which is also the first day of spring, to be Mother’s Day and a symbol of open-heartedness, purity and beautiful feelings. Egypt celebrated Mother’s Day for the first time on March 21, 1956. >From Egypt this idea spread to other Arab countries. At some point some people suggested that Mother’s Day should be called Family Day, so as to honour fathers as well, but this idea was not widely accepted, as people thought that this detracted from the rights of mothers, or they accused the proponents of the Family Day idea of thinking that it was too much to allocate a day just for mothers. Even now the Arab countries still celebrate this day through the various kinds of media and honour the ideal mothers who have gone through immense struggles for their children’s sake at every level.

After knowing that, it comes as no surprise that most of those who celebrate Mother’s Day are the Jews and Christians and those who imitate them, and that they say that this is because of their concern for women and mothers, and that Mother’s Day is celebrated by some of the Masonic clubs in the Arab world such as the Rotary Club and Lions Club.

We may also note that Mother’s Day, which is March 21 (in the Arab world) is also the New Year of the Coptic Christians, and the Nawroz festival of the Kurds.

The shar’i viewpoint concerning Mother’s Day:

Islam has no need of things that are innovated by others, be it Mother’s Day of anything else. Its teachings on the honouring of mothers mean that it has no need for an innovated Mother’s Day.

Fatwas of the scholars

1. The scholars of the Standing Committee said:

Praise be to Allaah Alone and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger and his family and companions.

Firstly: Eid is a name given to a recurring occasion on which people come together, whether it is annual or monthly or weekly and so on. Eid combines a number of things: a day which recurs, such as Eid al-Fitr and Friday (Jumu’ah); gathering on that day; acts or worship and customs which are done on that day.

Secondly: whatever is done on that day as a ritual, act of worship or act of veneration that is done in order to seek reward, or that involves imitating the people of the Jaahiliyyah or similar kaafir groups is a forbidden act of innovation (bid’ah) and is included in the general meaning of the hadeeth in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (Islam) that is not part of it will have it rejected.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim). Examples of that include celebrating the Mawlid (Prophet’s birthday), Mother’s Day, and national days, because in the first case (Prophet’s birthday) that means worshipping in a manner that Allaah has not prescribed, and because it involves imitating the Christians and other kaafirs, and in the second and third cases (Mother’s Day and national holidays) it means imitating the kaafirs. As for occasions which are intended to organize work, for example, in the best interests of the ummah, such as traffic week or training sessions for employees and so on, which are not intended as acts of worship or veneration at all, these are customary innovations which are not included in the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (Islam) that is not part of it will have it rejected,” so there is nothing wrong with such things, rather they are prescribed in Islam.

And Allaah is the Source of strength. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.

Standing Committee for Academic Research and Issuing Fatwas, Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 3/59, 61

2. They also said:

It is not permissible to celebrate the so-called Mother’s Day and similar innovated festivals because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (Islam) that is not part of it will have it rejected.” He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not celebrate Mother’s Day and neither did any of his companions (may Allaah be pleased with them) or the salaf (earliest generations) of this ummah. Rather it is an innovation (bid’ah) and imitation of the kuffaar.

Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 3/86

3. Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz said:

I read the article published in the al-Nadwah newspaper on 30/11/1384 AH, entitled Takreem al-Umm… wa Takreem al-Usrah (Honouring mothers… and honouring families), and I found that the writer approved of some of the what the west has done by singling out one day in the year to celebrate mothers. He pointed out something that is ignored by those who want to introduce this holiday, which is the pain and grief which those children who have lost their mothers suffer when they see their peers celebrating and honouring their mothers. He suggested that this celebration should honour the entire family and explained that Islam did not prescribe this festival, because the Islamic sharee’ah enjoins honouring one’s mother.

The writer did well by explaining why it is not prescribed in Islam and in pointing out the downside of this festival, of which many were unaware, but he did not point out the innovations involved which go against the clear texts that were narrated from the Messenger of Islam (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or the harm that this causes, or the fact that it involves imitating the mushrikeen and kuffaar. So in these few words I wanted to point out to the writer and others the innovation in religion that is involved in this bid’ah and others that have been introduced by the enemies of Islam and those who are ignorant of it in order to damage its reputation and put people off Islam, and the confusion and division that have resulted from that, the extent of whose damage and corruption no one knows except Allaah.

It is proven in the saheeh ahaadeeth that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warned against innovations in religion and against imitating the enemies of Allaah, the Jews, Christians and other mushrikeen. For example, he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (Islam) that is not part of it will have it rejected.” According to a version narrated by Muslim “Whoever does something that is not in accordance with this matter of ours (Islam) will have it rejected.”

What this means is that it will be rejected and thrown back on the one who innovated it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say in his Jumu’ah (Friday) khutbah: “The best of speech is the Book of Allaah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The worst of matters are those which are newly-innovated and every innovation is a going astray.” This was narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh. Undoubtedly singling out one day in the year to celebrate and honour mothers or families is one of the newly-innovated matters that were not done by the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or by his blessed companions, so we must not do that and we must warn the people against it, and be content with that which Allaah and His Messenger have prescribed.

We have noted above that the writer stated that the Islamic sharee’ah enjoins respecting one’s mother and commands Muslims to honour their mothers all the time. He is correct on this point. The Muslims have to be content with that which Allaah has enjoined upon them of honouring and venerating their mothers, and treating them kindly, and obeying them when they tell them to do good all the time, and of avoiding innovated matters of which Allaah has warned them and which lead to imitation of the enemies of Allaah and following their paths and approving of the innovations of which they approve. That does not apply only to mothers, rather Allaah has commanded the Muslims to honour and respect both parents and to treat them kindly, to uphold ties of kinship with all relatives. And Allaah has warned them against disobeying parents and severing the ties of kinship, but He has singled out the mother for more care and honour, because she takes more care of the child and because the hardships she faces in bearing, nursing and raising the child are greater. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents”

[al-Isra’ 17:23]

“And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents. Unto Me is the final destination”

[Luqmaan 31:14]

“Would you then, if you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and sever your ties of kinship?

Such are they whom Allaah has cursed, so that He has made them deaf and blinded their sight”

[Muhammad 47:22-23]

It was narrated in a saheeh hadeeth that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Shall I not tell you of the greatest of major sins?” They said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allaah.” He said, “Associating others in worship with Allaah, and disobeying one’s parents.” He was reclining, but he sat up and said, “And false speech and false witness.” A man asked him (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saying, “O Messenger of Allaah, who among the people is most deserving of my good company?” He said, “Your mother.” He asked, “Then who?” He said, “Then your mother.” He asked, “Then who?” He said, “Then your mother.” He asked, “Then who?” He said, “Then your father, then the next closest and the next closest.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No one who severs the ties of kinship will enter Paradise.” And it was reported in a saheeh hadeeth that he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever would like his provision to be increased and his life to be made long, let him uphold the ties of kinship.” There are many well-known aayahs and ahaadeeth which speak of honouring one’s parents and upholding the ties of kinship, and which affirm the rights of mothers. Those which we have quoted above are sufficient. They will prove to the one who ponders their meanings that it is obligatory to honour and respect both parents, and to treat them and all other relatives kindly at all times. They teach us that disobeying parents and severing the ties of kinship are among the worst characteristics and major sins which deserve the punishment of Hell and the wrath of Allaah. We ask Allaah to keep us safe from that.

This is better and more eloquent than the western innovation of singling out just one day in the year for honouring one's mother, then neglecting her for the rest of the year, whilst also ignoring the rights of fathers and other relatives. The great mischief that results from this will be obvious to anyone who has insight, along with the fact that it is contrary to the laws of the Wisest of rulers and is bound to cause that which His trustworthy Messenger warned us against.

Similar to this are the innovations which many people follow, such as celebrating the Prophet’s birthday, or the anniversary of the country’s independence, or the accession of the king, and so on. All of these are innovations in which the Muslims are imitating others, namely the enemies of Allaah. They ignore the warning which Islam brought against that and the prohibition of such things. This confirms the saheeh hadeeth in which the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, step by step, until even if they entered the hole of a lizard, you will do so too.” We asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said, “Who else?” According to another version, “My ummah will follow in the footsteps of those who came before it, handspan by handspan, cubit by cubit.” It was asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, the Persians and Romans?” He said, “Who else?”

What the most truthful one (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said has indeed come to pass, as this ummah – except for those whom Allaah wills – have followed those who came before them, the Jews, Christians, Magians and other kaafirs, in many of their characteristics and actions, until Islam has become like a stranger and the teachings, morals and actions of the kuffaar have become better in the minds of many people than the ways of Islam, and good has become evil and evil has become good, Sunnah has become an innovation and bid’ah has become the way of many people, because of ignorance and turning away from the noble morals and righteous deeds taught by Islam. “Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return” [al-Baqarah 2:156 – interpretation of the meaning; words uttered at times of calamity]

We ask Allaah to enable the Muslims to understand their religion, and to improve their situation, and to guide their leaders, and to help our scholars and writers to spread word of the beauties of our faith and to warn against the bid’ahs and innovations which tarnish its reputation and put people off, for He is able to do all things. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon His slave and Messenger Muhammad and upon his family and companions, and those who follow his path and adhere to his Sunnah until the Day of Judgement.

(Majmoo’ Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 5/189)

4. Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan said:

Matters which involve imitation of the kuffaar include imitating them in matters of worship, such as matters of shirk like erecting structures and shrines over graves and exaggerating concerning them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “May the curse of Allaah be upon the Jews and the Christians, for they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.” And he said that if a righteous man among them died, they would build a place of worship over his grave and put images in it, and they are the most evil of mankind. There occur many actions which are tantamount to major shirk because of exaggeration concerning graves, because of that imitation of the Jews and Christians.

That also includes imitating them in mushrik and innovated festivals, such as the Mawlid celebrations on the birthday of the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or the birthdays of presidents and kings. Some of these innovated or mushrik festivals may be known as “days” or “weeks”, such as the National Day or Mother’s Day or Cleanliness Week and so on. All of these occasions have been imported to the Muslims from the kuffaar, because in Islam there are only two festivals: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Everything else is an innovation (bid’ah) and imitation of the kuffaar. The Muslims must beware of that and not be influenced by the large numbers of so-called Muslims who do that and are ignorant of the true teachings of Islam, and who do such things because of ignorance, or who are not ignorant of the true teachings of Islam but do these things deliberately, in which case the matter is more serious.

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allaah and the Last Day, and remembers Allaah much”

[al-Ahzaab 33:21 – interpretation of the meaning]

From a khutbah entitled al-Hathth ‘ala Mukhaalifat al-Kuffaar (Urging the Muslims to be different to the kaafirs)

5. Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen was asked about the ruling on celebrating so-called Mother’s Day. He replied:

All festivals that go against the festivals that are prescribed in Islam are bid’ahs and innovations that were not known at the time of the righteous salaf, and they may have come from the non-Muslims, in which case as well as being innovations they also entail imitating the enemies of Allaah. The Islamic festivals are well known to the Muslims, namely Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and the weekly festival (Jumu’ah or Friday). There are no other festivals in Islam apart from these three. All festivals which have been introduced apart from these are to be rejected and are false according to the law of Allaah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (Islam) that is not part of it will have it rejected,” i.e., it will be thrown back at him and will not be accepted by Allaah. According to another version, “Whoever does something that is not in accordance with this matter of ours (Islam) will have it rejected.” Once this is clear, it is not permissible to celebrate the holiday mentioned in the question, which is known as Mother’s Day, and it is not permissible to introduce any of the symbols of that holiday such as expressing joy and happiness, giving gifts and so on. The Muslim must be proud of his religion and adhere to the limits set by Allaah for His slaves, without adding anything or taking anything away. Moreover, the Muslim should not be weak and spineless, following anyone who makes noise, rather he should mould his character according to the sharee’ah of Allaah so that he will be followed, not following, and so that he will be an example, not one who follows the example of others, because the sharee’ah of Allaah – praise be to Allaah – is perfect in all ways, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion”

[al-Maa'idah 5:2]

Mothers deserve more than to be honoured on just one day of the year, rather mothers have rights over their children, who should look after them, take care of them and obey them, so long as that does not involve disobeying Allaah, at all times and in all places.

Fataawa Islamiyyah, 1/124; Majmoo’ Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 2/301, 302

6. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said, commenting on a similar topic:

From this the perfection of Islamic sharee’ah should be clear to you, and you should be able to understand some of the wisdom behind the commands of Allaah to His Messenger to be distinct from the kuffaar and to differ from them in all ways, so that being different will become a protection against falling into evil and into the same things as other people did. If a Muslim’s wife or children ask him to do any of these things, he should remind them of the festivals that are prescribed in Islam and be generous to them on those occasions so that they will no longer look for other occasions. If they do not accept that, then there is no power and no strength except with Allaah. Whoever upsets his family for the sake of Allaah, Allaah will make him pleased and will make them pleased. Let the wise man beware of obeying women in such matters. In al-Saheehayn it was narrated that Usaamah ibn Zayd said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I am not leaving behind any temptation that is more harmful to men than women.” Most of the mischief caused to kings and states is because of obeying women. In Saheeh al-Bukhaari it is narrated that Abu Bakrah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No people will ever prosper who appoint a woman as their leader.” And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to the Mothers of the Believers, when they double checked with him concerning the issue of instructing Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer, “You are (like) the companions of Yoosuf,” meaning that women’s nature is to keep bothering the wise man with their questions. As he said in another hadeeth: “I have never seen anyone lacking in reasoning and religious commitment and more overwhelming to a wise man than any one of you.”

Therefore Allaah reminded us of His blessing to Zaraiyya when He said (interpretation of the meaning):

One of the scholars said: A man should pray to Allaah and try his best to reform his wife. And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”

Want Paradise? You have to work for it. Paradise has a price.

You can read this note in Indonesian (Bahasa), French, Albanian, Turkish, Arabic and Urdu Language.

Assalam alaykum,

Bismillah
Allahuma salli'ala Muhammad.

The only ghaayah (aim and target) of a Muslim should be to seek the pleasure of Allah, whilst hoping to be rewarded by his Lord (with paradise) for doing so. Thus, paradise is not the sole objective in his life; rather it is seeking the pleasure of Allah.

However, this paradise which we are speaking of requires a huge amount of sacrifice and willpower, and this was confirmed by the Messenger Muhammad (saw) who said in a famous hadeeth:

"When Allah created paradise and hell, he sent Jibreel (Gabriel) to paradise, saying: 'Go and look at it and the things I have prepared therein for its inhabitants.' So he went and looked at it and at what Allah had prepared therein for its inhabitants. He then came back and said: 'By your glory, whosoever will hear of it will long to enter it.' So he ordered that it be surrounded by forms of hardship, and said to Jibreel: 'Go back and look at what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants.' So he went back and found that it was surrounded by forms of hardship. Then he came back and said: 'By your glory, I fear that no-one will enter it.'

Then he sent him to the fire of hell saying, 'Go and look at it and what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants.' So he looked at it and saw that it was in layers, one above the other. Then he came back and said: 'By your glory, whoever hears of it will never try to enter it.' So he ordered that it be surrounded by passions and desires, and said: 'Go and see what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants.' So he went and looked at it, then came back and said, 'by your glory, I fear that no-one will escape from entering it.'" (Muslim, Abu Daawood and Imaam Ahmad)

And the messenger of Allah (saw) also said:

"The Fire is surrounded by shahawaat (desires), and paradise is surrounded by hardship." (Al-Bukhaari and Muslim)

Therefore oh dear brothers and sisters, after knowing these ahaadeeth how can we expect the road to Jannah to be simple, easy and test free? We know very well that the only way to please Allah (swt) and enter paradise is by following the Messenger Muhammad (saw) and his companions, yet how similar is our life to theirs?

The Messenger Muhammad (saw) and his companions were extradited from their homeland, mocked at, tortured, ridiculed, boycotted, killed, slandered and attacked; how much of this do we suffer? The moment we lose a bit of wealth, are shouted at by our parents, are labelled by the Kuffaar and face a bit of criticism from so-called Muslims, we completely give up our da'wah, 'aqeedah and zeal to work for Allah's deen.

It is vital for us to understand this concept properly in order for us to remain steadfast and firm in the deen. Allah (swt) will always test the believers; sometimes he may test us through our families or wealth, and other times he may test us with the Kuffaar, Munaafiqeen, deviant Muslims or even with our close friends. This is a promise from almighty Allah (swt) therefore we should always be expecting it.

Dear Muslims, never lose hope in your Lord. Always remember that whatever test you face, the Sahaabah were faced with much worse scenarios. Ibn Taymiyyah, Abu Haneefah, Ahmad bin Hanbal and many other great 'Ulamaa (scholars) were put behind bars but they never compromised their call. 'Ammaar bin Yaasir (ra) witnessed by his own eyes the torture and killing of his mother, Hamzah was mutilated, Bilaal was tortured, Abu Bakr was beaten to near death, 'Uthmaan was assassinated, and the Messenger Muhammad (saw) was strangled and suffocated. What kind of similar hardship have we faced in our life for the sake of Allah?

If you hear a Munaafiq or corrupted person say, "Yes but that was at their time. The reality has changed and we are living in a different situation," do not listen to him for he has a disease in his heart. No person will ever enter paradise without to face severe tests from almighty Allah (swt) in every sphere of life, for Allah will test those who he loves:

"When Allah wishes good for someone he will test him." (Al-Bukhaari)

We have heard many people who have the attributes of the Munaafiqeen often saying in regards to the Mujaahideen and those sincere Muslims who have lost their limbs for the sake of Allah or have been imprisoned, "Allah has punished these people. Had they not made such statements then they would be free today." We would like to remind them of one verse where Allah (swt) says:

"O you who believe! Be not like those who disbelieve (hypocrites) and who say to their brethren when they travel through the earth or go out to fight: 'If they had stayed with us, they would not have died or been killed,' so that Allah may make it a cause of regret in their hearts. It is Allah that gives life and causes death. And Allah is All- Seer of what you do." (EMQ Aali 'Imraan, 3: 156)

One day you may have no food to eat, no clothes to wear, no home to live in, no family to ask for help, and no limbs to help you work. If you are ever tested by Allah (swt) and find yourself to be in this situation, then the best and only thing you could do is say, "al-Hamdulillaah (all praises are for Allah)." Be grateful to your Lord in ease and in hardship. Verily the one who is ungrateful to his Lord will live a miserable life in the dunyaa, and in the hereafter he will be disgraced and humiliated.

"Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, 'When (will come) the Help of Allah?' Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allah is near!" (Al-Baqarah, 2: 214)

"Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: 'We believe,' and will not be tested?"

"And we indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test)." (Al-'Ankaboot, 29: 2-3)

"And certainly, we shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to as-Saabireen (the patient ones, etc.)."

"Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: 'Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.'"

"They are those on whom are the Salawaat (i.e. blessings etc. [who are blessed and will be forgiven]) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones." (Al-Baqarah, 2: 155-157)

MENDAMBAKAN SURGA? KAMU HARUS BEKERJA UNTUK MENCAPAINYA. SURGA MEMILIKI HARGA

Assalamu’alaikum,
Bismillah

Allahumma salli ’ala Muhammad

Dan Rasulullah S.A.W. bersabda pula:

(QS. A—’Ankabut 29:2-3)

" (Al-Baqarah, 2: 155-157)

Asslaam-o-Alaikum

BisamilAllah
ALLAH HUMMA SALEALA SAYEDINA MOHAMMAD

Aik Musleman ka azam aur hadaf sirf Allah SWT ki raza hasil karna hona chahiye is umeed ke sath k esa karne se uska Raab use inaam (Jannat) ata farmaye ga.
Jabke Janat uski wahid Manzil-e-Maqsood nahi hai balke uska maqsad sirf Allah SWT ki raza hasil karna hai.

Lekin, yeh Janat jiski hum baat kar rahe hain aik bari tadad main qurbaniyaan aur quwat-e-iradi mangti hai aur is baat ki tasdeeq hamare Rasool Hz.

Jibreel AS Janat main gaye aur un cheezon ko dekha jo Allah SWT ne Janat ke logoon ke liye tayar kar rakhi hain. Wo wapis aaye aur kehne lage: Aap ke Jalal k sath kehta hun k jo koi b is ke (Janat) ke bare main sune ga is main dahel hona chahe ga.

Tab Allah SWT ne hukam diya k Janat ko muskiloon ke sath gheer diya jaye aur Jibraeel AS se kaha k dobara ja k dekho. Jibreel aik baar phir gaye aur dekha k Janat muhtlif pareshaniyoon aur sakhtiyoon se gheeri hoi hai. Wo wapis gaye aur Allah SWT se kehne lage: Muje dar hai k koi b is main dahil nahi ho sake ga.

Phir Allah SWT ne Unhe Jahanam ki Aag ki taraf behja aur kaha k: Jao aur dekho k Maine Jahanmiyoon ke liye kya tayaar kar rakha hai. Unhoon ne dekha k Jahanam tehoon ki shakal main hai jo aik dosre ke ooper hain. Phir Wo wapis aaye aur kaha: Jo b iske bare main sune ga is main kabhi jane ki koshish nahi kare ga. Tab Allah SWT ne hukam diya k ise khwahishoon aur arzoon k sath gheer diya jaye aur aik baar phir Jibreel ko behja aur kaha k dekho maine Jahanmiyoon k liye is main kya tayar kar rakha hi Wo aik gaye aur dekha aur kehne lage: Muje dar hai k koi bhi is main dahil hone se bach nahi sake ga."

(Muslim, Abu Dawood aur Imaam Ahmad)

(Bukhari aur Muslim)

Isliye ay Behno aur Bhaiyo is hadees ko sune ke baad hum yeh umeed kese rakh sakte hain k Janat ki taraf le jane wali rah sada, asan aur azmaishoon se pak ho? Hum achi tara se jante hain k Allah SWT ko razi karne aur Jannat main dahil hone ka wahid rasta Hz. Mohammad SAW aur Sahabah AS ke raste ko ikhteyar karna hai magar hamari aur Unki zindagi main kitni yaksaniyaat hai?

Hz. Mohammad SAW aur Sahabah Karaam ke sath apni hi Sarzameen main kisi Geer Mulki Mujram ki tara salook kiya jata, apka tamasher uraya jata, apko aziyaat di jati, apse boycott kiya jata, mara, zibah kiya jata aur ap par hamle kiye jate, in main se kitni takaleef hum ne uthai hain?

Jis lamha hum apni zara si dolat kho dete hain hamare waldeen hum se naraz hote hian, hamain kafar bulaya jata hai, aur naam nihad Muslemaoon se tankeed suni parti hai. Hum poori tara se Islam ki Dawat dena, hamara Aqeedah aur sari deeni sargarmiyaan pe haar maan jate hain.

Yeh baat hamare liye bohat eham hai k hum is tasawaar ko achi tara se samjain is deen main sabit qadam aur atal rehne ke liye. Allah SWT Momanoon ko hamesha azmaish main daleen geen, kabhi hamare Kkhandan ya Dolat ke zareeye ya kabhi Kufaar, Munafiqeen, bhatke huwe Muselmanoon ya bohat Qareebi Dostoon ke zareeye. Yeh Allah SWT ka wada hai isliye hamain in azmainshon ko hamesha qabool karna chahiye.

Ibn Taymiyyah, Abu Haneefah, Ahmad bin Hanbal aur bohat se dosre azeem Ulamma ko slakhoon ke piche rakha gaya magar unhoon ne apne kam main musalhat nahi ki. Ammaar bin Yaasir RA ki apni ankhoon ke samne unki Walida ko azeeyat pohanchai gai aur phir unko katal kiya gaya. Hamza ke Jisam ko tukron main kata gaya, Bilaal ko azeeyaten di gai unki saans roki gai aur unka gala ghonta gaya. Esi konsi aziyatain humne Allah SWT ke liye apni zindagi main bardasht ki?

Agaar koi Munafiq ya Gunahgaar banda kahe, "Haan, magaar yeh unke zamane main huwa karta tha. Ab waqt badal chuka hai aur hum aik alag soorat-e-haal main reh rahe hain," uski baat par dehan na do kion ke uska Dil beemar hai. Koi bhi Insaan Janat main dahil nahi ho ga apni zindagi main Allah SWT ki taraf se di gai azmaishoon ka samna kiye bagair aur Allah SWT apne Mehboob bandoon ko azmain geen:

" Jab Allah SWT kisi ke liye achai chahte hain to usko azmaish main dalte hain." (Bukhaari)

Humne bohat se logoon ko, jinko Munaafiqeen ka naam diya jata hai, Mujaahedeen ke bare main kehte suna hai aur un sache Muselmanoon ke bare main jinhoon ne apne Aaza Allah SWT ki raza ke liye khoye ya Jailoon main dale gaye, " Allah ne in logoon ko saza di hai. Hum in logoon ko aik Aayaat yaad dilana chahain ge jis main Allah SWT ne farmaya:

" Ay Imaan Walo, tum un Kafiroon (Munafikoon) ki tara na ho jao jo apne Un Bhaiyoon ke bare main yeh kehte hain jo (kaheen) safar par gaye hun ya Jihad kar rahe hun (aur wahan mar jain) ke agaar wo hamare paas hote to na marte aur na katil kiye jate, take Allah SWT is (Gumaan) ko inke Diloon main hasrat banaye rakhen, aur Allah hi Zinda rakhta aur Marta hai. Aur Allah tumhare Aamal khoob dekh raha hai. (Quran 3:156)

Aagar aap ko kabhi Allah SWT ki taraf se azmaish peesh aaye aur aap apne apko esi halat main payain to sab se behtereen aur wahid baat jo ap kar sakte hain, yeh hai k aap AlhamduliAllah (sab tareefain Allah SWT ke liye hian) kaheen. " Apne Raab ka shukar dukh aur sukh main ada kareen. Beshaq jo apne Raab ka shukar ada karta hai wo is Duniya main aik badtareen zindagi guzare ga aur agle Jahan main uske sari muskalain aur pareshaniyaan door ho jain gi.

" Kya tum yeh gumaan karte ho ke tum (yuhn hi bina azmaish) Janat main dahil ho jao ge halanke tum par to abi in logoon jesi halat hi nahi aayi jo tum se pehle guzar chuke, unhain to tara tara ki sakhtiyaan aur takaleef pohanchi, is tara hila diya gaya ke khud Pegambar aur Unke Imaan wale Sathi bhi pukaar uthe ke Allah SWT ki madad kab aaye gi? Aagah ho jao ke beshaq Allah ki madad qareeb hai. (Quran 2:214)

" Kya loag yeh khayal karte hain ke inke sirf itna kehne se ke hum Imaan le aaye hain wo chor diye jain ge aur inki azmaish na ki jaye gi.
Aur beshak Un logoon ko bhi azmaya tha jo in se pehle the so yaqeenan Allah in logoon ko zaroor azmaish ke zariye numaya farma de ga jo Dawah-e-Imaan main sache hain aur jothoon ko bhi zaroor zahir kar de ga" (Quran 29: 2-3)

" Aur Hum zaroor bil zaroor tumhain azmain ge kuch khauf aur bhook se aur kuch maal aur janoo aur phaloo ke nuqsan se aur Ay Habeeb (SAW) Aap un sabar karne waloon ko khush khabri suna deen.
Jin par koi Museebat parti hai to kehte hain: Beshaq hum bhi Allah hi ka (Maal) hain aur hum bhi Usi ki taraf palat kar jain geen.

(Muslimi, Abu Daudi & Imam Ahmedi)

Kurrë mos i humbisni shpresat tek Zoti.

''Kur Allahu i do të mirën dikujt, Ai e sprovon atë.'' (Al-Bukhari)

(Al-Ankabut 29:2-3)

Back To Allah :The Nine Conditions for Prayer

There are nine conditions or requisites for prayer:

Islam, sanity, (the age of) discernment, the removal of Hadath, removal of any impurity, the covering of one’s Awrah (any area of that body the must be covered), the entrance of its time, facing the Qiblah, and intention.

In Arabic, the conditions are called Shuroot, the plural of Shart, which linguistically means a sign. However, in the Shari’ah, it has another meaning: When it is nonexistent it necessitates nonexistence, but when it is existent, it does not necessitate existence. Put more simply, if there is no purity, then there is no prayer, but if one is pure, it is not necessarily the case that he has to pray (at the specific moment). And by the conditions of prayer, we are referring to those conditions upon which the correctness of one’s prayer depends.

The Nine Conditions For Prayer:

1) Islam, the opposite of which is disbelief (kufr). The disbeliever’s actions are rejected, no matter what deed it is he performs, for Allah Almighty says:

"It is not for the polytheists to maintain the Masjids of Allah, while they witness against their own selves of disbelief. The works of such are in vain and in Fire shall they abide." (At-Tawbah 9:17)

And in another verse, Allah Almighty says:

"And We shall turn whatever deeds they (disbelievers) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust." (Al-Furqan 25:23)

The only prayer that is accepted is the Muslim’s prayer, a reality that is proven by this verse:

"And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the hereafter he will be one of the losers." (Aal ‘Imran 3:85)

2) Sanity, the opposite of which is obviously insanity or madness. The Pen is raised for the insane person, which means that he is not held accountable for his deeds until he returns to his sense. The Messenger of Allah said:

"The Pen has been raised from three: the one who is sleeping, until he awakens; the insane person, until he returns to his senses; and the child, until he reaches puberty." [Recorded by Ahmad in his Musnad, and Abu Dawud, An-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah.]

3) The age of discernment, the opposite of which is early childhood years. The age of discernment is realized at the age of seven, the time when a child must be ordered to pray, for the Messenger of Allah said:

"Order your sons to pray when they turn seven, and hit them (if they refuse) when they turn ten, and at that time, make them sleep in separate beds." [Recorded by Al-Hakim, Imam Ahmad, and Abu Dawud, and in one version it is: Order your children……]

4) The removal of Hadath, and there are two kinds of Hadath; (i) the greater one, (ii) the lessor one. The former includes menstruation and sexual intercourse; one purifies himself from these forms of Hadath by performing Ghusl. An example of the latter is the passing of wind, and this form of Hadath is removed by ablution; the Messenger of Allah said:

"Allah does not accept prayer without purification." (Recorded by Muslim and others)

He also said:

"Allah does not accept the prayer of one in a state of Hadath until he performs ablution." (Agreed upon)

5) The removal of impurities from three: from one’s body, from one’s clothing, and from the place one prays in.

And your garments purify!
(Al-Muddaththir 74:4)

Purify yourselves from urine because verily, it is the most common reason for punishment in the grave.

6) The covering of of one’s Awrah (any area of the body that must be covered) with clothing that doesn’t reveal one’s shape, skin, or complexion. The Messenger of Allah said:

"Allah does not accept the prayer of a women who has reached the age of menstruation unless she wears a veil." (Recorded by Abu Dawud)

The people of knowledge concur that if one is able to wear clothes, but prays naked instead, then his prayer is invalid. The Awrah for a man, or the area of his body that must be covered, is the area between his belly button and his knees, and the same goes for the female slave. The ‘Awrah of the free women is her entire body except for her face, and even that must be covered when she is in the presence of strange men. In a Hadith related by Salmah bin Al-Akwa’, the Messenger of Allah ordered him to cover himself, even if he had only one garment to accomplish that. And Allah Almighty says:

"O children of Adam! Take your adornment to every Masjid." (Al-A’raf 7:31)

That means, for the prayer.

7) The entrance of the prayer’s time. The proof for this condition is taken from the Hadith of Jibril, peace be upon him, wherein he led the Prophet in each prayer, once at the beginning of the time for each prayer, and then at the end of its time. He said, ” O Muhammad, the prayer is between these two times,” Allah Almighty says:

"Verily, the prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours." (An-Nisa 4:103) "Perform As-Salat from midday till the darkness of the night, and recite the Qur’an in the early dawn. Verily, the recitation of the Qur’an in the early dawn is ever witnessed(attended by the angels in charge of mankind of the day and the night)." (Al-Isra’ 17:78)

8 ) Facing the Qiblah:

"Verily! We have seen the turning of your face towards the heaven. Surely, We shall turn you a Qiblah (prayer direction) that shall please you, so turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram (in Makkah). And wherever you people are, turn your faces (in prayer) in that direction." (Al-Baqarah 2:144)

9) Intention: it resides in the heart and its utterance is an innovation. The Prophet said:

Indeed, deeds are by intentions, and for every person is what he intended.
